"Fear of Flying"
611 2F08
Original Airdate: 12/18/94
When Marge has an even more disturbing experience than usual on an airplane,
she must confront her debilitating fear of flying. Consulting a soft-spoken
psychoanalyst named Dr. Zweig, Marge begins to get to the roots of her anxiety.
In therapy, it turns out that Marge's father lied throughout her entire
childhood, telling her he was a pilot when he was actually an airline steward.
If that wasn't traumatizing enough, little Marge was also shot at by a crop
duster and survived a near-fatal fire on an airplane riding toy. During
one of Marge's therapy sessions, Homer tries to get a drink at a new bar
in town called Cheers, but decides it's not the place for him since no one
is glad he came. After her breakthrough, Marge is able to fly without fear.
She bids farewell to Dr. Zweig and takes off for a happier, healthier future.
